WEAVERVILLE – Waylen “Bud” Garrison, age 91, of Weaverville passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Mr. Garrison was born on October 6, 1934, in Charlotte County, Virginia. He worked at City Garage in Richmond, Virginia and had lived in Weaverville since 2015. He served in the US Navy and loved fishing. He was the son of the late Waylen Grady Garrison, Sr. and Martha Metcalf Garrison and husband of the late Lillie Mae Hyatt Garrison.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Linda Garrison Wickham (Harrison); son, David Garrison (Mary Kelly); a sister, Nellie Patterson; and grandchildren, Brian Wickham and April Garrison (Michael).

The family held a private service Friday at West Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Powhatan, VA.
