ALEXANDER – Wanda S. Worley, 67, of Alexander, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the Solace Center.
Wanda was born April 29, 1955, in Newport, Tennessee to the late Calvin and Novella Messer Suttles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Suttles and sister, Ethel Suttles.
Wanda was a supervisor at Dayco Refurbishing for many years and was a resident of Madison and Buncombe Counties most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers, because she loved just being outside in nature. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren and cooking meals for them. Wanda was a member of Bull Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Worley; children, Eric Strickland (Shanon), Jeremy Worley and April Worley; sisters, Kathleen McPeters, Freida Combs (Bobby), Barbara Wrenn (Jimmy) and Eva Roper (James); brothers, Coy Suttles (Patsy) and Bobby Suttles (Tonya); and grandchildren, Summer, Jordyn and Stella.
Funeral services for Wanda will be Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Reverends Kenneth Pack and Larry Sprouse officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, NC.
