ASHEVILLE - Valerie "Val" Hackett, 59, passed away on Thursday December 16, 2021.

A native of Ireland, Val was the daughter of Tom Nelson and Carmel McCarthy Nelson. She is also survived by her husband, Stephen; two children, Mark and Sarah; two brothers, David and Andrew; a daughter in law, Deanna; her mother-in-law, Claire; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
