Trent Dexter Willis

WEAVERVILLE – Trent Dexter Willis, age 26, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Trent was born November 2, 1994 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a 2013 graduate of Mt. Sheba Christian Academy. He loved history and was an avid Bible scholar.  He felt led to preach God’s Holy Word as a young teenage boy.  Trent was a peace keeper who was humble and meek.  He had a compassionate heart for anyone in need.  Trent was a Momma’s boy and wasn’t ashamed of it.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas Willis; maternal grandfather, Jerry Jenes; and an uncle, Mark Jenes.

Trent is survived by his parents, Chaunces and Terry Jenes Willis; brother, Mark Rickman and wife Shanna; nephew, Peyton Parker; paternal grandmother, Irene Willis; maternal grandmother, Freida Jenes; and uncle, Keith Willis.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverends Steve Rhinehart and Robert Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.

Per the NC Governor, masks are required inside the building. Those who choose, may listen to the service on their car radio by tuning into FM 87.7, while in the parking lot of the funeral home.
