Tommy Harwood

BARNARDSVILLE – Tommy Harwood, 51, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Hesley and Irma Harwood. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents and two uncles.

Tommy loved to hunt mushrooms and go fishing. He enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family and loved to smoke ribs, brisket and rib roast for them.

Christmas and the Fourth of July were Tommy’s two favorite holidays.

He was the supervisor of three departments for IFB Solutions and had worked there for close to 20 years.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy; his son, Matthew; his daughter, Karen; a brother, Nickey; and his sister, Lisa and her husband Travis. He is also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 in Harwood Cemetery, Barnardsville. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
