Timothy Benjamin Whitmire

WEAVERVILLE– Timothy Benjamin Whitmire, age 16, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday March 28, 2018. Timothy was born May 1, 2001 in Mecklenburg County and was a resident of Buncombe County for the past twelve years. He is the son of Rev. Ben Whitmire and Jenifer Rairdon Whitmire. Timothy was in the N.B. High School Marching Band since the 7th grade and was a drum major for the past two years. Timothy was also a member of Buncombe Beatz Percussion for the past four years. As an active member of Locust Grove Baptist Church he was AWANA Commander and was active in the Refuge Youth Ministry. He worked at Ingles on Weaver Blvd. and was known for his contagious smile and caring attitude. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Gracie Whitmire; maternal grandparents, Stan and Julie Agee Rairdon of Franklin, IN; paternal grandparents, James Lee Whitmire of Mint Hill and Maleah Dawn Greene Whitmire of Matthews; paternal great grandmother, Faye Ellen Sutton Greene of Monroe. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Locust Grove Baptist Church. Dr. J.D. Grant, Rev. Scott Reece and Pastor Jeremy Kurth will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC 28787.
