Thomas Gene Hall

Thomas Gene Hall passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. Born July 4, 1935, in Haywood County, NC to the late James Oliver & Reta Wells Hall. Also proceeding him in death are siblings James Hall, Jane McGill and Nancy Green.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maxine, children Steve (Linda), Cindy Nelon (Lou), Pam Sampica (Steve), Amy Hall, and Paul (Brandy), his grandchildren Amanda Lunsford (Dillon), Kelly Hutzel (Andrew), Thomas & Samuel Nelon, Luke & Seth Sampica, Grady, Abigail & Wells Hall and great grandchildren Ari & Maya Hutzel and Maisie Lunsford, siblings Alvin Hall & Linda Kuykendall.

Gene was a devoted man of God and a prayer warrior. He was an ordained Baptist minister and pastored churches in Madison, Haywood and Buncombe counties for 30 plus years while also teaching & coaching. A faithful member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, where he served in many different capacities through the years. You’d often find him with his Bible on one of his sides & a football playbook on the other side. He was also a Marine veteran who served during the Korean War.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 21 Flat Creek Church Road, Weaverville, NC. Reverend Brian Hanrahan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:15 prior to the service.
