TERRY JACK HUNTER

MOUNT AIRY – Terry Jack Hunter, age 69, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, July 10, 2022. 

Mr. Hunter was born on July 10, 1953 in Asheville and was a resident of Mount Airy for 37 years.  He was a plant manager in the textile industry and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Mr. Hunter was the son of the late Lester W. and Opal Jones Hunter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kirk Thomas; and niece, Kelly.   He was the husband of Dana Owensby Hunter.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Terry Jack “TJ” Hunter II, Adam Hunter and his wife Michelle, and Chris Watson; two sisters, Brenda Creasman and her husband Mark and Linda Thomas; grandchildren, Samantha, Tesia and Kyle Hunter, Colton Watson, and Rylan and Hannah Hunter; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon and Gunner; and nieces, Terri and Anna.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 in Red Oak Cemetery with the Reverend Randy Edwards officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville.
