Obituary

WEAVERVILLE – We lost our beloved Tami Burrell on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, to esophageal cancer. She was born on April 12, 1971.

Tami was a treasured daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of Weaverville and had a love of travel and the outdoors. She was an avid camper and hiker, hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail. She was also a craftswoman who took pride in fixing and building things with her own hands. Her professional career included Quality Engineering Tech and Supervisor, and was a published author of poems, but she found her calling in massage therapy, Reiki healing and health/life coaching. She helped many people and won a neighborhood favorite award. The flexible schedule also enabled her to care for her disabled mother for many years. She had a great love of animals, but her most treasured were her two chihuahuas, Bailey and Lilly. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Burrell; and brother-in-law, Randy Collins.

She is survived by her mother, Amanda Honeycutt; sisters, Kathy Collins, and Diana Harvey and husband Bill; and nieces, Sarah and Emily Harvey.

Services for Tami will be held at a later date.

West Family Funeral Services is honored to be serving Tami’s family.
