Stella Louise Bartlett

WEAVERVILLE – Stella Louise “Nan” Bartlett went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville with her family by her side.

Louise was born at Aston Park Hospital in Asheville, NC on August 30, 1942, and was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Clinton Stinson and Marjorie Mae Crisp; brother, Ragle Stinson, and her cousin/best friend, Frances Kancilia.

Louise is survived by her loving husband, Charles; children, Teresa Pouchot (David), Russell (Pam), Jeff (Deanna); grandchildren, Amanda Lowe (Zach), John Edwards (Ashley), Erika and Jonathon Bartlett; great-grandchildren, Hank, Jasper, and Olwen Edwards, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Nan was a longtime Weaverville resident. She can best be described as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, devoted wife, and affectionate mother and grandmother. The most precious components of Nan’s life were her faith and family. She was a kind and generous woman making sure no one did without. Nan loved to travel and take vacations with her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Nan could always be found at family gatherings, birthday parties, sporting events, and church happenings. She enjoyed spending nights sitting with Charles and watching football games. Nan will be greatly missed by many people.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville. Her son, Jeff Bartlett will officiate. Interment will take place after the service in West Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
