WEAVERVILLE – Shelby Roberts Ferguson, age 84, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Shelby was born on November 24, 1941, in Buncombe County where she had lived all her life. She loved baking pound cakes, sewing, and cooking in general. She was a member of the Erwin Lions Club and attended Newbridge Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Reba Sheppard Roberts and wife of the late Charles Edward “Ed” Ferguson to whom she was married 55 years. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Roberts.

Surviving are her daughters, Tiawana Ramsey (Jimmie), and Teresa Sawyer (Tim); sister-in-law, Joann Roberts Jenkins (Bill); special niece, Autumn Roberts; and special grandson, Carson Crawford.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Brian Buckner and Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the funeral home.
