Scott Alan Bettilyon, age 62, of Barnardsville passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Scott was born on July 30, 1961, in Massillon, Ohio to the late Donald and Kay Townsend Bettilyon. He received his Avionics Degree at St. Leo University and served in the US Navy from 1983-1991. Stationed at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia; he served as an Avionics Tech on the USS Saratoga. Scott was formerly employed at Sonopress and AVL Technologies and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1991. He was an avid sports fan, loved golfing, and gatherings with family and friends in the family home or by the fire pit.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bettilyon.
Surviving is his wife of 36 years, Cheri Dillingham Bettilyon; daughter, Caroline Bettilyon of Easley, SC; son, Alex Bettilyon and wife Jacqueline and their sons, Cal and Sam also of Easley; brothers, Mike Bettilyon and wife Karen, John Bettilyon and wife Suzy, and Robbie Bettilyon and wife Maria; and sister-in-law, Jean Steiner.
