Ruth Ann (Hall) Coontz

   Ruth Ann Coontz, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024.  Born on December 10, 1945 in Elkhart, Indiana to James Hall and Ruby Anderson Dillingham.

   Ruth's journey through life was shared with her beloved children; Jerry (Melissa) Stump, Cherie Stump Putnam, Jason Stump, James (Tena) Stump, and Jessica Coontz.

   Her life was enriched by the joy of her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Deanna Hall Hancock, Mary Jane Hall “Fox”, and Billie Imogene Thompson.

   Ruth’s professional life was marked by 15 years at Whitehall Laboratories and her job as a full-time mother to her children.

   Time did not slow Ruth. In 2002 she moved to her family property in the North Carolina mountains where she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and caring for animals, including goats, chickens, horses, and dogs.

   Ruth loved to bake and will be remembered for her homemade biscuits, cinnamon rolls, cakes, and many other creations.

   The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka for all of the care and comfort rendered to our mom and our family.

   Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6 2024 at the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville NC 28787.  Rev. Jerry Shelton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Center for Hospice Care 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545.
