Robert Dare

      WEAVERVILLE – Robert “Bob” Dare passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 4, 2024, after a long battle with prostate cancer.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine (Kiley) and Russell Dare. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald.

      Bob was a good family man who will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Joann; his sister, Debra McNally (Paul); his brother’s daughter, Geralynn; and his sister-in-law, Claire Oestreich (Jack); and numerous nieces and nephews residing in South Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

      Bob loved all the dogs and cats he and his wife acquired over the years. He loved music and sports. Bob was a very athletic young person and avid follower of his favorite teams. He was a Fantasy Football Commissioner.

      Before retiring, Bob enjoyed his job as a server farm operation manager at Navy Marine Corps Intranet and had a high regard for his coworkers and friends there.

      The family would like to thank all the caring staff at Advent Health Oncology Services, Genesis Care, Mission Cancer Care Center, the Four Seasons Palliative and Hospice Care, and Care Partners Home Health.

      No services have been planned, as requested by Bob.
