RICKMON EDWARDS WEAVERVILLE – Rickmon Edwards, age 69, of Weaverville died Saturday, April 22, 2017. Rick was born May 28, 1947 in Madison County. He had lived in Madison County and Buncombe County over the course of his life. He worked as a rock mason and a painter. A very religious person, he had served in ministry for over 30 years and was a member of Long’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Weaverville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Remus Emerson Edwards and Maude Elmira McCone Edwards. Rick was a loving husband, dad and friend who never met a stranger. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Agnes Marie Edwards; daughters, Cynthia Benson and husband Dennis, Catherine Henson and husband Charles, Kimberly Roeder and husband Darrell and Amanda Crompton and husband Kevin; sons, Joseph Edwards and Aaron Edwards and wife Tasha; sister, Judy Watts; half-brother Chris Banks and wife Alma; twenty six grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 28, 2017 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Sonia Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
