WEAVERVILLE – Rickie Allen Harper, Sr., age 72, of Weaverville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Rickie was born on April 20, 1953, in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a member of Covenant Church of the Highlands.
He was the son of the late Reed “Bud” and Arvenia Penley Harper and husband of the late Delores Ann Harper who died in 2024, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dale Warren.
Surviving is his daughter, Michelle Warren; sons, Rickie Harper, Jr. (wife Missy), Dee Harper (wife Heidi), and Isaiah Gosnell (wife Hannah); sister, Gail Harper; brother, Steve Harper; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Covenant Church of the Highlands, 540 Reems Creek Road, Weaverville, with Rev. Timmy Burnette and Rev. Jordan Hicks officiating.
The family will receive friends the evening before from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the church.
