Rex Bruce Guthrie

BARNARDSVILLE – Rex Guthrie, age 65, of Barnardsville, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Rex was born on October 18, 1959, in Buncombe County where he had lived most of his life. He was a retired carpenter.

He was the son of the late Fred Banks and the late Dorothy Harwood Guthrie. He was also preceded in death by brother Tony and Danny Guthrie; son, Phillip Guthrie; and girlfriend, Loren Boone.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Thomas, and Bobbie Gail Ball and husband Darrel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
