With deepest sorrow, we announce that Reid Ashton Bell, our most amazing, sweet boy, at the young age of 13 years old, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.
Reid was welcomed into the world on December 11, 2011, in Asheville, North Carolina, immediately making it a brighter place. He was the most perfect angel, a true blessing, and a shining light to so many.
He was attending Cane Creek Middle School where he inspired all those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit. He always showed tremendous love for his friends and family. He loved all things Star Wars, Minecraft, Japanese Anime, Art and Drama, and Legos. When he wasn’t working hard at school, he could be found spending time gaming with his friends online, watching YouTube shorts, hanging with his sister, Mattie, or playing with his two Frenchie’s, George and Josie. He loved nothing more than to spend time at home “relaxing”. His brilliant sense of humor is what he’ll be remembered for most.
Reid is deeply missed by his loving parents, Justin and Abby DePalma Bell; his sister, Mattie McKynlee Bell; “Nana”, Sue DePalma; “Mimi”, Sandry Curry; and “Poppie C.”, Larry Curry; aunts and uncles, Lisa Thompson and husband Rob, Tim DePalma and wife Whitney, Chris DePalma and wife Allison, and Jason Bell and wife Megan; cousins, Jackson, John and Helen Thompson; Harrison, Nations and Winston DePalma; Adeline, Lila and Julia DePalma; and Lincoln, Tessa and Oliver Bell. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John DePalma and Ernest Ward Bell.
A time to reflect on the joy Reid brought to our lives will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Brookstone Church, 90 Griffee Road, Weaverville, NC 28787 with Reverend Jim Dykes officiating the service. West Family Funeral Services is honored to be serving the Bell family. Reid adored his sister so in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so to support Mattie’s education in her NC 529 fund https://go.fidelity.com/1v5bzt
All will cherish the fond memories of him, and all will miss him dearly. Just know he will always walk beside us, and he will always love us. Please share any memories and stories about Reid or express any sympathies for the Bell family under Reid’s Obituary at www.westfamilyfuneralservices.com.
