Peter Benjamin Gowing

Peter Benjamin Gowing, age 82, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the CarePartners  Solace Center in Asheville.  

Born June 21, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Gowing was the son of the late Arthur Benjamin and Marie Collette Langlois Gowing.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ann Barber Gowing; two sons, Mark Gowing and wife Lisa, and Ron Gowing and wife Christine; grandchildren, Alyssa Rice (Doug), Ross Gowing (Aliyah), and Travis Gowing; great-grandchild, Sloan Rice and Luca Gowing, set to arrive next month. 

Mr. Gowing attended Freedom Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school.   

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Freedom Baptist Church, 50 Rice Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the church.
