Pauline Maney Watkins, age 91, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Mrs. Watkins was born September 14, 1930, in Buncombe County to the late Talmadge and Maggie Tilmon Williams Maney; and was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County.
Mrs. Watkins was a stock reporter at the N.C. Department of Agriculture and later worked with Farm Bureau. Pauline was the oldest member of Barnardsville United Methodist Church and served as Treasurer for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James “George” Watkins who died in 2004; sisters, Fayma Dillingham and Louise Sawyer; brother, Ed Maney; and niece, Carol Rexrode.
Surviving are her nephews, Alan Sawyer and wife Barbara, who were her caregivers, special great- nephews, Corey and Jeff who were more like her grandsons, and Norman Dillingham and wife Linda; niece, Diane Rosseter and husband Rob; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Clyde Denny will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home.
The family is asking that all in attendance please wear a mask or face covering due to the current Covid pandemic.
