Nancy Roberts Reese

COLUMBIA, SC – Nancy Roberts Reese, age 90, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Lakeside Place Senior Living in Lexington, SC.

Mrs. Reese was born on December 23, 1934, in Buncombe County and had lived in South Carolina for nearly 70 years. She was the daughter of the late James Winston and Fronia Dillingham Roberts, and was also preceded in death by her husband, David E. Reese, who passed in 2009; sisters, Lucy Roberts and Helen Ballard; and brothers, Clay, Bud and Tom Roberts.

She taught Physical Education at Windsor Elementary School in Columbia and volunteered at Providence Hospital in cardiac rehabilitation facility for over 40 years. She played basketball and was a big Tarheels fan. She was an avid sports fan and loved to watch tennis, golf and softball. She was an encouraging person and loved helping other people and doing volunteer work

Surviving are nieces, Brenda Wright, Linda Forester, Ann Hill, Nancy Caughman, Barbara Ann Church, and Earlene Israel; and nephews, Bill Reasonover, Richard Roberts, and David Gill.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, in the Chapel at West Funeral Home with Reverend Christopher Reese officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville, NC
