Mildred Burleson Banks

BARNARDSVILLE - Mildred “Mim” Burleson Banks, age 87, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Mildred was born October 13, 1930 in Buncombe County, where she had lived all of her life. In 1993 she retired from the Buncombe County Library System. She enjoyed canning and spending time with her family and friends; feeding everyone that entered her door. Mildred attended North Black Mountain Baptist Church in Barnardsville. She was the daughter of the late Ottis and Celestia Burleson. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Banks Ray and husband L.D. of Sevierville, TN; sons, Mike Banks, Tim Banks and wife Melissa all of Barnardsville, Keith Banks and wife Sherry and Calvin Banks all of Dandridge, TN; sister, Lois Wilson and husband Don of Barnardsville; brother, David Burleson and wife Jan of Barnardsville; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her inurnment will be held at a later date at Burleson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave. Weaverville.
