Mary Bell Dockery

Mary Bell Dockery, age 92, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Mrs. Dockery was born November 9, 1924, in Leavenworth County, KS. A resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, she worked as the Cafeteria Manager at Weaverville Elementary School for 26 years. She was the daughter of the late David Eugene and Ruby Lyda Bell and wife of the late Romulus Dockery who died in 1997. Also preceding her in death were a son, Charles Dockery who died in 2006, ten siblings and her beloved dog, Scooter. Surviving are her daughters, Gwen Dockery and Nancy Harwood; son, Phil Dockery and wife Geneva; sister-in-law Norma Dean Metcalf; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday July 14, 2017, in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
