WEAVERVILLE – Mary Catherine Roberts, age 96, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Mrs. Roberts was born October 28, 1929, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and a lifelong member of Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church. She worked in the cafeteria at North Buncombe Middle School. She was the daughter of the late William and Josie Myers and wife of the late Richard H. Roberts who died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by all seven of her siblings.

Surviving are her daughters, Catherine Roberts, Ann Roberts Fender, and Cindy Roberts Ingle; grandchildren, Jocelyn Freeman (Donny), Anthony Ingle (Heath), Robyn Tucker (Seth), and Travis Ingle (Kaitlyn); great grandchildren, Grayson Freeman (Brandi), Callie Evans (Nick), Gaven Freeman, Harrison Tucker, Jackson, Alex, Brantley Ingle; great great grandchildren, Desten & Chaisyn Freeman, and Emmaline & Lilah Evans; special grandson, Japhy Weideman (Jenna); and great granddaughter, Amelia Weideman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Rebecca Gurney and Rev. Jay Rabuck officiating. Burial will follow in Old Weaverville Cemetery, South Main St., Weaverville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
