Luis Alberto Peregrina Galvan

WEAVERVILLE – Luis Alberto Peregrina Galvan, age 59, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family after bravely fighting a year long battle with brain cancer.

Luis was born in Mexico (Acaponeta, Nayarit) on June 5, 1966, and made a life for his family in the Weaverville Community. He is predeceased by his parents, Enrique Peregrina Fonseca and Maria Del Refugio Galvan Tirado. He was a loving father, husband, son, and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife, Adriana Martinez Peregrina; sons, Luis Peregrina, Jr. and fiancée, Daisy Perez, and Andres Peregrina and fiancée, Jenny Perez; grandchildren, Valeria Peregrina Perez and Mia Peregrina Perez; also surviving are six siblings as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Luis will be remembered as a loving, caring, selfless, funny and respectful person. He brought so much joy, love and laughter to everyone he encountered.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Church at 11:30a.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, with Father Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow the service in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville. The family will receive friends at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, on Sunday March 15, 2026, from 2pm until 8pm with Rosary starting at 4:00 pm.
