Lois Geraldine Buckner

ASHEVILLE – Lois Geraldine Buckner, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Mrs. Buckner was born on December 3, 1944, in Henry County, Virginia and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. Early in life she worked at H.B.’s Drive-In and formerly worked at Burlington Industries. Lois was all about her family and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and the beach.

She was the daughter of the late Nicholas T. and Evelyn Allen Buckner. She also was preceded in death by her late husband, J. V. Buckner who passed away in 2017.

Surviving are her daughters, Pam Hunter, Tammy Laffitte and husband, Angelo, and Lisa Waldrop; a son, David Waldrop; a sister, Pat Cannon; a brother, Nick Buckner and wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren, Zach Hunter and wife, Holly, Kendra McGuinn and husband, Miles, Jeremy Hunter and wife, Dana, Molly Hunter, Kain Chambers, Jacob Waldrop, Trevor Waldrop, and Mayce Waldrop; eight great grandchildren, Kiara, Judah, Seth, Malachi, Luke, Zeke, Ryland, and Gianna.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Aston Park Health Care for the excellent care they gave to Lois.
