KATIE ROGERS HYATT LEICESTER – Katie Rogers Hyatt, age 82 of Leicester died Sunday, May 14, 2017. Mrs. Hyatt was born March 29, 1935 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She enjoyed traveling, liked to garden and loved her dogs. Mrs. Hyatt was a member of Georgetown Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Daniel Rogers and Cordie Bell Clark Rogers, her husband, Roy Kenneth Hyatt, who died in 1992, an infant daughter, Deborah, along with brothers, Billy, Don, Jack and Doyce Rogers, and sister, Gertie Mae Griffin. Surviving are her sons, Larry K. Hyatt and special friend Tim Burkholder, Timothy M. Hyatt; sisters, Grace Earley, Euphima Hawkins; grandchildren, Crystal Swann, Melissa West, great grandchildren Glen, Emily, James, Tyler, Jeremy and Jessica. No services are planned.
