CANDLER – Kathy Sue Edmonds, age 48, of Candler, died Saturday, April 20, 2019.
Kathy was born April 9, 1971 in Buncombe County, where she lived all of her life. She was a member of Snow Hill UMC where she was the Assistant Director of Snow Hill Child Enrichment Center. Kathy was a passionate Christian, whose faith was larger than life. She loved her Lord and was the rock of her family. Preceding her in death are her father, Troy Edmonds and a brother, J.C. “Red” Edmonds.
Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Buckner and step-father, Raymond Buckner; sons, Chris Edmonds and wife Kayla, and Dale Singleton; siblings, Rachel Trull and husband John, Andy Bailey and wife Sherry, Buford Hensley and wife Deborah, Bonnie Metcalf and husband Steve, Nancy Brank, Kay Taylor, Suzy Crews, and Nellie Arrowood; granddaughters, Hannah, Hailey and Heather; step-siblings, Clifford Buckner and wife, Deana, and Monica Olnhausen and husband Rick; niece, Amber Graham; nephew Xayden Bailey; aunt, Jewel Bailey; great-nephews, Lawson and Braddock Ford; and several additional nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Diana Johnston and Reverend Donald Burchette will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
