Kathleen Ray

WEAVERVILLE – Kathleen Ray, 96, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at The Greens of Weaverville. Born on September 4, 1926 in Buncombe county, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Beatrice Ballew. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Ray, who died in 2008.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Steve Ray, Sr.; a granddaughter, Krystal Davis of Weaverville; three grandsons, Steve Ray, Jr. of Asheville, Matthew Ray of Columbus, IN, and Michael Ray of East Flat Rock. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville. Rev. Kent Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12pm until 2pm on Friday at the funeral home.
