Judy Darlene Pressley

BLACK MOUNTAIN - Judy Darlene Pressley, age 66, of Black Mountain, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Solace Hospice Center surrounded by her whole family.   

Mrs. Pressley was born April 21, 1956, in Buncombe County and was a resident of Buncombe County all her life. 

She drove a school bus for 42 years for the Progressive Education Program.  She loved all kinds of crafting: wreath making, hand-made Christmas cards and decorations and crocheting.  She enjoyed traveling on Disney cruises and camping with her family.  She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and loved going to services. 

Mrs. Pressley was preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Dorothy J. Jones; sister, Phyllis R. Hall; and in-laws, Jesse E. and Hazel M. Pressley. 

Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Ernest Lee Pressley; daughter, Tonya Michele Blackman and husband, Jimmy, of Florida; son, Michael Dakota Riley and girlfriend, Sydney Hardin; grandchildren, Zachary Ryan Allen and fiancé, Sarina Wise, Kayla D. Heath and husband Timothy, and Dustin Blaze Hoglen; and great-grandchildren, Alaina Rose Heath, Waylon Cole Heath, and another on the way. 

A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Pressley at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, with Reverend Larry Carver officiating.  Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
