Judy Gail Ledford Harwood

CANDLER – Judy Gail Ledford Harwood, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born November 20, 1946, to the late Gladys Banks Ledford and John Winslow Ledford in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband William “W.T.” Talmadge Harwood, Jr.; her sister, Jerlene Robertson; brother, Lewis Benny Ledford; and nephew, John Whitson.

Judy was a kindhearted person that would do anything for anybody. She was loving, helpful, and very intelligent. Her tutoring helped many classmates get through high school. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Lee Harwood (Janice) of Barnardsville, and Larry Dean Harwood (Anga) of Marion; sisters, Margie Whitson (Charles), Carolyn Franklin (Johnny), Peggy Rambo (Tommy); brothers, Jackie Ray Ledford, Freddie Ledford, and Earl Ledford; several nieces and nephews; and her Barnardsville extended family.

Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband at Harwood Cemetery in Barnardsville in a private family service with Rev. Steve Rhinehart officiating.
