Judy Hensley Duckworth

WEAVERVILLE - Judy Hensley Duckworth, age 87, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at her home.  Mrs. Duckworth was born on July 24, 1935, in Yancey County to the late Sam and Jane Wilson Hensley; she was a resident of Buncombe County since 1958.

Mrs. Duckworth was formerly employed with Cheney Bigelow in Weaverville and retired from Ingles in Weaverville.  A former member of Longs Chapel Baptist Church and a current member of Celebration Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Edward Duckworth who died in 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Beckie Edwards and partner, Lane Ponder; a son, Jason Duckworth and partner, Shelia Fultz; two grandchildren, Gregory and Carissa Duckworth and four great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville.  Pastor Tim Fultz will be officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at West Funeral Home.
