WEAVERVILLE – Judith “Judy” Banks Wilson, age 76, of Weaverville, peacefully joined her daughter, Tina Wilson and her parents, Jay Hugh and Ruth Carter Banks, in Heaven on July 13, 2017.
Judy was born, June 22, 1941 in Buncombe County. Judy accepted Christ as Her Savior in April 1983 and was a member of Mt. Sheba Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church until her health began to decline.
She enjoyed her genealogy and researching her family history and helping others do the same. She loved looking at her flowers and watching the birds. But, her greatest joy was her family and being there for all of them. She raised five children and two of her granddaughters, Meghan Wilson and Rebekah Schindler, after their mom passed. We were so blessed to have her; she was the best mom anyone could have ever asked for.
Judy is survived by her “True Love”, Clarence G. Wilson, she said she had loved him all her life; children, Susan Dillingham and husband Michael, Clarence L. Wilson and wife Angie, Rhoda “Wendy” Proffitt and husband Gary, and Peggy Sprinkles and husband Charles; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Elkins; brother, J. Hugh Banks and wife Shirley; and her true friend, Lisa Bass.
Services to honor Judy will be held on Sunday July 16, 2017 at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. and the memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. with her dear friend and Pastor, Rev. Steve Rhinehart officiating.
Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
