Juanita Wooten Mace

WEAVERVILLE – Juanita Louise Wooten Mace, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023, surrounded by family.

Juanita was born on July 6, 1945, in Yancey County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late James Wooten and Ada Anderson Wooten. She was also preceded in death by her son, Alan Buckner; her brother-in-law, Bud Davis; and an infant brother, James Wooten, Jr.

Juanita loved to cook for her family. She was a wonderful grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren more than anything.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Ford and Kathy Biggs and her husband Larry; son, Stephen Metcalf and his wife Jennifer; daughter-in-law, Cathy Buckner; sisters, Joan Davis and Pat Bryant and her husband Norman; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
