Josephine Eiler "Jo" Smith

ASHEVILLE - Josephine Eiler “Jo” Smith, 25, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Mission Hospital. 

A native of Guernsey County, OH, Jo was the daughter of Charles “Chuck” Smith and the late Terri Anne Pauly-Smith. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Louise Nelson Pauly and James Frederick Pauly; paternal grandparents, Charles and Nora Alcorn Smith; and an uncle, Keith Sain.

Jo was a graduate of North Buncombe High School class of 2016. She loved animals, especially her dog, Princess. She enjoyed listening to stories and podcasts on the internet and YouTube. Jo also enjoyed time spent with her dad watching movies.

She is survived by her father, Charles; three aunts, Lynn Eiler Pauly Whalen (Arthur Whalen), Susan Pauly Sain, and Karen Eilene Pauly; and several cousins.

The family will be planning a memorial service at a later date.
