CATONSVILLE, MD – Joseph Guy Brigman, age 53, of Catonsville, MD., passed away at Perry Point VA Medical Center, Perry Point, MD on Saturday May 20, 2023, after a courageous two-year battle with colon cancer.
He was born February 24, 1970, in Asheville, NC to Joseph D. and Margaret Harper Brigman. He was an eagle scout and a 1988 graduate of North Buncombe High School and a member of the band. He was a 1996 graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a BA in Psychology.
Guy joined the US Air Force in August 1997. After basic training, he was stationed with the Mental Health Flight at the David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California. In 2001, he was stationed at the Prince Sultan Air Force Base in Saudi Arabia with the Critical Stress Management Team.
After returning home, he went to Officer Training at Maxwell AF Base in Montgomery, AL. His final station was at Fort George C. Meade in Maryland with the 70th Intel Support Squadron.
Guy was a Professional Human Resources Director and a recruiter for the medical field.
In addition to his parents, Guy is survived by this stepdaughter, Kate Elizabeth Taylor of the home, whom he dearly loved as his own. Uncle David Brigman and wife Diane and his son Kelly Brigman of Florida, Aunt Keitha Mast and husband Greg of Roxboro, NC and their daughter Molly Mast of Raleigh, NC and son Jonathan Mast and his family of Cumming, GA.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville, 30 N. Alabama Ave, Weaverville, NC at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 3, 2023, with Pastor Skip Gillikin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
