John Potter Reilly, III

John Potter Reilly, III, age 67, of Weaverville passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at his home. Mr. Reilly was born on August 28, 1957, in Pleasantville, New Jersey to the late John Potter Reilly, Jr. and Alice Mary McManus Reilly. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carla Bolick Reilly who died in 2016.

Surviving is his son, Johnathan Reilly.

Mr. Reilly received his Master’s Degree in Psychology from Western Carolina University. He worked locally to train and direct mental health workers in best practices. He was a mentor to many people working with patients dealing with mental health challenges. He was a big fan of music and enjoyed playing the guitar, as well as being outside and taking care of his property Weaverville. He will be remembered as a man that cared greatly for his son’s education, success, and future.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 19, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville.
