Jennifer George Whittington

WEAVERVILLE– Jennifer F. West George Whittington, died Friday, August 3, 2018 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a long battle with (MS) Multiple Sclerosis. She was preceded in death by her father, Noris R. West, Lieutenant Commander U.S. Navy. She is survived by her husband and caregiver Leslie A. Whittington; mother, Mary Lance West of Arden, N.C; sister Jeannie R. Watkins of Cave City, AR; brother, David N. West (Kathy) of Arden, NC; nephew, Walter A. Smith (Toni) of Cave City, AR and Fur babies, Dolly and Smitty. She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and The University of North Carolina Asheville. She was a reading instructor at the Juvenile Evaluation Center, Swannanoa, NC for 24 years. A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at West Family Funeral Services, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, NC 28787. The family expresses a special “Thank You” to her caregivers, Alicia Byrd, Kasey Shelton, Jericca Moffitt, Sheba Piercey and Nurse Sue Reece.
