ASHEVILLE - Jeff died in December of 2025, over twelve years after his Stage IV lung cancer diagnosis. During those years, he taught so many of us how to live life fully while facing adversity and a tenuous future. He chased the things he loved — traveling, hiking, paddling, and, of course, cycling — riding over 30,000 miles after his diagnosis. He spent time around the fire with friends, cooked elaborate meals, took spiritual journeys, and immersed himself in music. As he lost capacity, he adjusted to his new reality with humor and grace. And when the end came, he was ready and at peace. It was quite a ride, and we miss him so.
