Jeffrey Chandler Roberts

MORGANTON – Jeffrey C. Roberts, 61, of Morganton, NC formerly of Asheville, NC passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in Georgia at Savannah Memorial Hospital.  He was born on October 22, 1960, in Asheville. 

He was a graduate of Asheville High School and AB Technical College Machinist training program.  He worked as a Machinist at several companies in Asheville.

Jeff had a passion for all things motorized that ranged from RC cars, ATV’s, automobiles, jet skis and his first car, a gold VW convertible.  He loved being at his cabin on the lake with friends.  He deeply loved his three dogs.  They were his constant companions “True Lifeline”. 

Jeff was truly blessed to have been a part of the extended Roberts’ family, a very close-knit family that celebrated and cherished each member.  There were numerous family gatherings for special occasions and holidays where good times and love were shared by a very large group of relatives.  Jeff and his sister, Gail, developed a special bond between them during his early childhood.  She was nine years old at his birth, so overjoyed to have a new baby in the home to love and care for.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guy D. Roberts, Sr. and mother, Barbara Chandler Roberts.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Gail R. Garmany (Knox) of Harrison, TN and his brother, Guy D. Roberts, Jr. (Leesa) of Asheville, NC.

Also survived by two nephews, Knox Garmany, IV and Michael Garmany; a great nephew, Griffan Garmany; a great niece, Dakota Garmany; two aunts, Susie Ray of Cullowhee, NC, and Marie Ray of Asheville, NC and many special cousins, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jeff will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, with Reverend Jeff McCumber officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
