James E. Morris

WEAVERVILLE– James E. “Jim” Morris, age 91, of Weaverville died Saturday, January 13, 2018. Jim was born November 16, 1926 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. His parents, Roy and Ethel Bradley Morris preceded him in death; along with his wife, Barbara Lorraine Gentry Morris, to whom he was married 60 years; eight brothers and one sister. Surviving are his daughter, Susan O’Neil and husband Dexter; son, Steve Morris and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Lauryn Valderrama and husband Fernando, Ethan Morris and great granddaughter, Penelope Lucille Valderrama. His funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverends Worth Emory and Jay Raybuck will officiate. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
