J V Buckner

ASHEVILLE – J V Buckner, age 83, of Asheville died Monday, May 22, 2017. Mr. Buckner was born April 13, 1934 in Buncombe County to the late Jacob Vernon and Mary Sue Mundy Buckner. He retired from driving a truck and selling produce. J V was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Jones, and his brother, Charles Buckner. Surviving are his wife Geraldine Buckner; children, Stephen Buckner, Dean Buckner and Waynette Tubbs; step-children, Pam Hunter, Tammy Laffitte, Lisa Waldrop and David Waldrop; sister, Betty Cross; along with 13 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017, in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Aiken Rd., Asheville, with Reverend Sherrill Moore officiating.
