BARNARDSVILLE - Henry “Hank” Steward Anderson passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Born on December 4, 1944, Hank lived a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to those who knew him.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jettie Anderson; his sister, Eloise Rice; and his brothers, Gerald and Jerry Anderson.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 58 years, Gloria Anderson; his children, Brian Anderson (Janine), Connie A. Odom (Henry), and Brady Anderson (Jacquie); his beloved grandchildren, Janson Anderson, Briana Anderson, Collin Odom, Jaelyn Anderson, Adelyn Anderson, Ashlyn Anderson, Ariel Sharpe (Tommy), and Lauren Cankaya (Deniz); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Bella, Tom and Emory Sharpe, and Auggie Cankaya. He is also survived by his brother, William “Andy” Anderson (Cindy); and sister-in-law, Carolyn Anderson.
A lifelong resident of Barnardsville, North Carolina, Hank was a respected home builder and owner of Anderson Family Homes. He took great pride in his work and in building not just houses, but homes for families in his community.
Hank loved the Lord and found joy in singing and spending time with those he loved. He especially enjoyed taking a ride in his red Corvette, but nothing brought him more happiness than his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His steady presence, strong faith, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Doug Guy and Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville for their kindness, compassion, and hospitality shown to both Hank and his family during his time of care.
