Helen Elizabeth Edwards

ASHEVILLE - Helen Elizabeth Wickham Edwards, 94, died at home surrounded by her family, Sunday, May 20, 2018. She was born on September 19, 1923 in a farmhouse in Edgecombe County, NC to the late Walter John Wickham and Nora Mary Cauley Wickham of Northend, England. Helen had 6 siblings that lived to adulthood, all whom preceded her in death. Helen’s life was devoted to her family and she was the matriarch of 4 generations. Helen and husband David, lived in numerous states during their time as an IBM family. Helen fostered a love of reading, outdoors, gardening, service and servanthood in all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed walking, bridge, baking, travel and serving others through her volunteer work. She is survived by her husband, David of 60 years, and her children; son, Sargent Major (USMC ret) Alan R. Frazier and wife Lynn; daughters, Karen E. Edwards, and Skye E. Schrag and husband Grant; grandchildren, David Alan Frazier, Ian Frazier, Morgan Frazier 2nd Lt. USAF, Michael Huffman, Kyle Huffman, Katie Myrick, Tessa Crespo, Erica Musselman, Amy Starr, Amanda Pendergrass, Emily Barton and Emma Myrick. She also leaves behind 2 great-granddaughters, Mya and Emery Frazier, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will have a private funeral service at West Funeral Home, Weaverville.
