Obituary

ASHEVILLE - Helen John Webb Anderson, age 83, of Asheville, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 29, 2026. Born on April 10, 1943, in Buncombe County, Helen dedicated her life to her community and family. A visiting health professional, her true passion was her role as a devoted mother, beloved nanny, and cherished friend to neighborhood children. With a love for gardening, she nurtured flowers and found joy in rocking babies.

Helen was the daughter of the late Theodore and Louise Prewett Webb and cherished wife of the late Clearnce Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Theo Anderson; sister, Vera Maynor; brother, Ralph Dean Webb; and grandson, Jonathon Craig.

Her loving legacy is carried on by her daughters, Maeola Boone (James), Hilda Anderson (Eddie), and Jessie Hensley (J.R.); her son, Jackie Anderson (Colleen); brothers, Larry Webb (Brenda), and Ryan Webb (Marlene). She leaves behind grandchildren, Mark Hoffman, Tim Hoffman, Miranda Tipton, Allie Boone, Jamie Long, William Hensley, Michael Webb, Ryan Webb, Eli Webb, Joy Hensley, Amanda Ball, and Bobby Hensley, along with many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Eleanor and Silas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Don Metcalf officiating. She will be laid to rest in Anderson Cove Cemetery, Barnardsville. Friends may visit with the family from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. before the service.
