BARNARDSVILLE – Harvey “Dwayne” Hensley, age 59, of Barnardsville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 19, 2026, at his home. He was born on December 6, 1966, in Buncombe County where he lived all of his life. He was the son of the late Harvey and Shirley Ann Stevens Hensley.

Dwayne worked many years building fencing and painted in the last years of his career. He was a very hard worker but became disabled. Even so, he was always there and tried to help any time anyone needed anything. He was a very loving and caring man whose heart of gold will be missed very much.

Surviving is his wife of 16 years, Lisa M. Rogers; stepchildren, Bobby Rogers (Becky Goodlake) and Crystal Bass (Roy); sister, Marlene “Pam” Hensley; step grandchildren, Rebecca, Alex, Tyler, and Dylan; step great grandson, Chansen; and nieces and nephews, Jamie Hensley, Jordan Madrid, and Jennifer Ragan.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Weaverville with Rev. Larry Rogers officiating.
