Garrett Wayne Fox

LEICESTER – Garrett Wayne Fox, age 43, of Leicester, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Garrett was born on May 16, 1982, in Buncombe County where he had lived most of his life. He loved working on the farm and raising hogs with his father. He loved his church and working on church building projects with Rev. Gordon Ball, who baptized him.

Garrett is welcomed to Heaven by his grandparents, Inez and James “J.G.” Fox.

Surviving is his daughter, Samantha Wooten; parents, Wayne Luther and Debra Jean Helms Fox; sisters, Alita Almendinger and husband Josh, and Crystal Manos and husband Shelby; and his best friend, Charles Barnes, who will serve as pallbearer along with Luke McCracken, Cheston Deifendeifer, Evan Fox, Avery Fox, Tyler Almendinger, Chase Buckner, and Leonard Wagner.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 206 Bear Creek Road, Leicester. Pastor Mark Caldwell and Rev. Sam King will speak, songs will be sung, and memories shared. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, and memorials may be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 570, Leicester, NC 28748.
