WEAVERVILLE – Gail Fisher Embler, age 87, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Gail was born on July 3, 1939, in Stockton, North Carolina and was a resident of Buncombe County all of her life. She worked with Buncombe County Schools as a secretary for over 20 years and really enjoyed working with children. Gail was a member of First Baptist Church, Weaverville for over 50 years. She was a daughter to the late Haskell and Mary Jo Jones Fisher and was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Chandler.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, John Robert “Bob” Embler; daughters, Dawn Eslambolchi, and Denise Haile, both of Asheville; son, Jonathan Embler of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, Leah, Kavon, Lydia, and Rostin.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2026, in First Baptist Church, Weaverville, 63 N. Main St., Weaverville, with Rev. Dr. Stuart Lamkin and Rev. Dr. Jim McCoy officiating.

The family will gather privately after the service. A private burial will be held on a future date at West Memorial Park.
