Frank Edward Ritter, Jr.

SYLVA – Frank E. Ritter, Jr., age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1945, in Ridley Park, PA, son of the late Frank Edward and Sara Richey Ritter. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are three infant siblings.

Frank grew up in the Philadelphia area and lived most of his life in Montoursville, PA. He served in the US Army in Vietnam, where he was a pharmacist specialist. Frank was a Red Cross volunteer and he loved helping people. He volunteered and was a life member at Willing Hand Hose Company, the Montoursville fire service. He moved to Western North Carolina in 2015, and loved the family dog, Rocky.

Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Linda Ritter; stepson, Scott Miller (Kate) and step-grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Miller and Paige and Courtney Woodring.

Burial services for Mr. Ritter will be at 12:00 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Paster Daniel Reid officiating. The US Army will provide military honors.
