Flora Elaine Elkins Gaddy

   BELLEVIEW, FLORIDA - Flora Elaine Elkins Gaddy, age 87, passed away on November 1, 2022, at her home.
   Flora was born on February 13, 1935, near Forks of Ivy, in Buncombe County, NC.
She was the daughter of Kenneth Cecil Elkins and Pansy Cleo McClurd Elkins. She was the sixth of seven children.
   Flora graduated from Wake Forest University, School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and started her 35-year career at the VA Hospital in Asheville, NC then transferred to the VA hospital in Gainesville, FL in 1970. She was very proud of the care she provided our veterans. She enjoyed traveling with her husband along with sharing her love of the Lord.
   She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, David W. Gaddy; brothers, Kenneth Glen Elkins, Paul Vance Elkins, and Richard Owen Elkins; and sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Elkins Murdock and Wilma Doris Elkins Hamlin.
   Flora is survived by her sister, Frances Ruth Elkins Owenby of Asheville, NC; her three children, sons, Michael D Gaddy of Newberry, FL, Kenneth E Gaddy of Gainesville, FL and daughter, Teresa Y. Stephens (Scott A Stephens) of Belleview, FL; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
   A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:30PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Buckner Elkins Cemetery, Weaverville. Pastor Eric Dimsdale will officiate.
